KCVS Trip to the Aviva

On November 14th 2017 KCVS travelled to the Aviva Stadium to watch Ireland V Denmark in the 2018 Fifa World Cup Play Off.

Teachers and students were delighted to be supporting the boys in green.

Huge Thank You to Mr. Farrell for organising the tickets and the day out.

Sadly the result did not go our way but the students really enjoyed the electric atmosphere  in the Aviva.

Team Hope Shoebox Appeal

Congratulations to the Transition Year Young Social Innovators (YSI) group, who successfully completed the Team Hope Shoebox Appeal. As part of YSI students investigate social problems and then look at creative solutions. The students were studying the topic of poverty and decided the shoebox appeal was a great initiative to try and help less fortunate children in other parts of the world.

The students facilitated a very successful Shoebox Appeal. Firstly, they coordinated guest speakers from Team Hope to come in and talk to the class. They then created posters and spoke to year groups in order to get students interested in the appeal. Finally the students collected shoeboxes in their spare time from shoe shops all around the city and during YSI they wrapped and filled these shoeboxes.

In total the YSI group filled over 60 shoeboxes. This is a massive achievement for the group and they are very proud of their accomplishment. A big thank you to all the students, staff and parents of KCVS who were very generous in their contributions to the appeal.
